1980's Silk Chiffon "Nippon" Dress
| This 1980's silk chiffon Albert
Nippon dress is so floaty and romantic you'll never want to take it off !
Done in a semi-sheer geometric print with a nod to the flapper era
with it's dropped shirred waist and shirred cuffs. Just like the dresses
of the late 20's and early 1930's, it closes up the side of the dress with
buttons and snaps. The bold & vibrant print is done in a majestic teal
color on a jet black background. Excellent condition with only two tiny
insignificant pulls to the fabric ( they get lost in the print
)...undetectable to the naked eye and a tiny tiny area at the collar where
the fabric is pulled from the seam...just a little bit. Otherwise...and
even withstanding...the dress is utterly dreamy and ready to wear. I love
the full sleeves that taper at the wide cuffs. Shown on a size 4 mannequin
but will easily fit someone larger. Fabulous condition ! Measures: 36" at the bust, 27"-32" in through the waist, free and full in through the hips, 16" across the shoulders, 16.5" from shoulder to the dropped waist, 25" sleeves and almost 49" long from shoulder to hem of dress. The dress is listed as a vintage size 12 but it fits much smaller.
