70's Silk Hand Beaded "Halston" Dress

Very few designers ever achieved the kind of recognition and fame that "Halston" did in the 1970's...and although some might caution ever purchasing any Halston with a Roman Numeral in the label...I feel that if you love it...get it...because vintage Halston is very hard to come by...Now this spectacular Halston dress bares his original Halston label...no Roman numeral here...In my book, there are really three particular Halston styles that are worth colleting...His Ultrasuede, his skin baring Grecian toga gowns and his silk beaded dresses. This dress falls into the third category. His silk beaded dresses were almost exclusively hand beaded in India and the craftsmanship is remarkable to say the least ! You have to remember that the 70's were still a time of Free Love, Drugs and Studio 54...so it's no shock that many fabulous Halston creations didn't make it past the decade they were created in...but this one did ! Done in a soft silk crepe, the entire dress is heavily beaded with a variety of tiny silver beads. The beading tapers off at the skirt, where it is still present...just not as densely as in the top of the dress. The long dolman sleeves are also fully encrusted with tiny beads...and to make things even more spectacular, the sleeves and the hem of the dress are adorned and trimmed in matching tiny silver bugle beads...the total effect is nothing short of Breathtaking ! The dress is in Fabulous condition, with only a handful of missing beads...and trust me...amidst the thousands that are present...you don't miss the few that aren't ! A high boat neck collar, elastic waist and slim skirt make for the perfect cocktail or after 5 dinner dress. Own a piece of fashion History...now's your chance ! The dress is said to have been worn only once...and that would explain the Flawless condition...I'm not going to count the handful of times I waltzed around the showroom in it !

Measures up to: 38" at the bust, 24-30" at the waist, 38" at the hips, 16" from shoulder to waist, 21" at the longest point of the sleeves and 44" long from shoulder to hem. I wear a modern size 6 and it fits me perfectly...but due to the generous cut and elastic waist, it will and can accommodate a variety of sizes. The skirt is slim cut...so just keep that in mind !
