This Spectacular silk, hand beaded and sequined gown by legendary designer Halston, was recently one of several gowns/dresses featured on the Debra Duncan show taped in Houston, Texas. The leggy model who got to model it told me that she had NEVER worn or modeled such an incredible piece of vintage fashion history ! In a nut shell...that's what it is...a piece of fashion history. Purchased in the late 1970's by a woman, also from Texas, who worked her way up for the mail room to the board room at Neiman Marcus, she fell in love with the dress as soon as it hit the showroom floor...thank God for employee discounts...she bought the dress even though it was too small ( haven't we ALL been there before?) and never lost that 10 pounds needed to wear the gown...her loss is your gain...this dress has never been worn and is in Flawless Museum quality condition. There are far too many pearls ( no they're not REAL pearls...just incase you were wondering...but damn good faux ones) to count...and far too many iridescent sequins...all hand applied onto the ivory silk. Naturally the gown is fully lined in silk as well. The pictures her, and there are many, in no way even begin to capture the beauty, elegance and dream-like quality that is this dress. Oscar worthy...you bet...suitable for a wedding...you bet...perfect for ANY occasion where you want to be the absolutely BEST dressed and most beautiful woman in the room...You Said It ! To have this dress made today, with the same couture quality and craftsmanship, not to mention the quality of the fabric and adornments...would easily cost in the neighborhood of $20-$25,000. Every time I look at this masterful creation I think...Movie Star, Hollywood...I'm ready for my close up ! Halston believed that a woman should NOT have to "Live up to the dress" and this dress/gown epitomizes Halston elegant Eveningwear to the 10th degree ! Listed as a size 8, it fits more like a size 6 by today's standards. Flawless ! Long zipper up the back.

Measures up to: 34" at the bust, 27" in thru the waist, 37" in thru the hips, 58" long from shoulder to hem, 23" at the sleeves...the gown basically falls straight down from the shoulders and caresses the body as it does so.
