30's Silk & Lace Slip
| On a recent New England
shopping excursion I came across the most exquisite collection of vintage
lingerie...naturally being the true Scorpio that I am, I had to have it
all. Most of the items had never been worn and came from the private
collection of a woman that had owned a small upscale boutique that sold
quality lingerie in addition to day and evening wear. This pale pink
1930's lingerie piece is in excellent condition with the exception of a
tiny bruise to the fabric where it looks like some imbecile pierced it
with a price tag...other than that it's perfect. The bodice, as you can
see , is accented with ecru colored lace appliqués, the back is cut
dangerously low and fastens with hidden hooks, the bias cut skirt is
longer in back giving it an almost "Train-like" effect. The lace
detailing is repeated at the hem. No labels of any kind...and with the
right undergarment this would look great as a slip dress.
