70's "Halston" Ultrasuede
Suit
I can't lie...it was very hard for me to
finally put this Halston Ultrasuede suit up on the site...I happen to just
adore Ultrasuede, and I've kind of become an Ultrasuede expert of
sorts...instantly recognizing with a gentle touch if the fabric in
question is Halston, Mollie Parnis, Vera Maxwell...some people do blind
folded "Taste Tests"...I do blind folded "Ultrasuede" test...and I'm here
to tell you that this Salmon-y Coral Halston suit is buttery soft and as
delicious and delectable to wear as it is to look at and admire ! Both
pieces are in Excellent condition... the jacket is fully lined and
although there's a fray in the inside breast area of the lining...it's one
of those things that's either easily ignored or repaired. The skirt is
unlined and features two front pockets and a fitted waist, ever so
slightly "A" line. Skirt closes with two hooks located in the back of the
skirt. I had the lining re-sewn in ( it was originally loose in a few
places) and as a result the "Halston" label had to be re-stitched
in...just incase you're like me and can immediately recognize when a label
has been moved or re-stitched.... I wear a modern size 6 and the suit fits
me well...but please do pay close attention to the measurements given. The
jacket is cut on the "Boxy" side. The suit is really rather unstructured
and represents Halston's simple chic extremely well !
Jacket measures up
to: 16" across the shoulders, 36" at the bust, 34" in through the waist,
widens just a bit in through the hip area of the jacket, sleeves are 22"
from shoulder to end of sleeve and jacket length is 22" from shoulder to
hem of jacket.
Skirt measures up to: 28" at the waist, 41" in through the hips and 27"
long from waist to hem of skirt. Just incase you're wondering, there is NO
extra fabric in the skirt to make it larger.
