"Best & Co." Late Teens Navy Faille Suit

What can I say: Love at First Sight...for me that is...when I laid eyes on this striking vintage suit. The fabric appears to be an early rayon (possibly silk/rayon blend) dark navy faille. In bold contrast to the exterior, the jacket lining features a vibrant floral motif on an ivory china silk background. Exquisite details abound. Fabric covered buttons, attached cross over sash belt and superior tucks and darts throughout to name a few. The fabric has a slight luster to it. The original "Best & Co." label is still intact. Overall, the suit is in Excellent condition, however, the jacket does show a little bit of wear. There is overall color fade, a small area of the lining that needs mending and a watermark located on one cuff. It all sounds much worse than it really is and with a little work or no work, the suit is Magnificent and the fabric itself is structurally sound. The roomy cut will accommodate a variety of sizes and both pieces can be worn separately for added versatility. In the very last thumbnail picture below, I have lightened the color of the suit to show subtle details but the actual color is best depicted in the picture to your left, dark navy. The lining has been sewn in by hand and the jacket is weighted in several places to insure proper draping.
